Dean Mogens Rysholt Poulsen has appointed Lars Porskjær Christensen, Pro Dean for Research and Innovation, as the new head of the doctoral school at the Faculty of Engineering and Science as of October 1. With Lars Porskjær Christensen at the helm, the doctoral school has a leader with extensive research experience.
With his many years of research experience and given his role as Pro Dean for Research and Innovation, Lars has substantial insight into what the job requires. In addition, he can link the activities of the doctoral school to other strategic initiatives at ENGINEERING, says Dean Mogens Rysholt Poulsen.
Among his duties, the new head of the doctoral school will continue the talent development that has been a great success at AAU for many years and has produced many of the university’s experienced researchers.
Many of AAU's most prominent researchers have themselves been PhD students here, and we must ensure that AAU remains an attractive place to continue a research career. This is an area that must be given even more attention in the years to come, says Mogens Rysholt Poulsen.
Lars Porskjær Christensen takes over the post from Frede Blaabjerg who will be devoting a large part of his time to his presidential duties for the prestigious IEEE Power Electronics Society.
