Where can I find the right grants, how to apply and who might help? Applying for research funding can be a daunting task, and there are many questions to be answered and forms to be filled in.

The new website – funding.aau.dk – provides a comprehensive overview of the many stages in the process and how to get support  whether you are a researcher or research support staff.

COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW PROVIDES TARGETED RESEARCH SUPPORT

‘This website is an important element of AAU’s research support efforts, because it helps to create an overview of relevant funding opportunities for the individual researcher; it provides advice on writing applications; and, above all, it refers researchers to the relevant staff who can provide administrative support in the application process,’ says Pro-dean for research at the Faculty of Humanities Anette Therkelsen.

In addition to information on support in the application process, the website also provides information on networking and competence development for research support staff employed at individual departments. Both elements are intended to contribute to a joint foundation and to create a basis for knowledge sharing and exchange of experience.

‘The new website and network provides for more targeted research support efforts at the entire university. A coherent setup for funding support is essential in order for us to provide the best possible support for bringing in as many research grants as possible,’ says Charlotte Pedersen Jacobsen, head of research support.

IMPORTANT TO GET INPUT AND FEEDBACK FROM USERS

During the first few months of the new year, Fundraising and Project Management staff will test the usability of the website in conjunction  with both researchers and research support staff. Fundraising and Project Management is the unit responsible for the joint research support efforts at AAU.

‘We’ve tried to make the website as user-friendly as possible, which is why we’re very interested in getting feedback and input from the users. We never want researchers at AAU to be in doubt about who might assist them in applying for research funding,’ says Ulla Egidiussen Egekvist, AAU fundraiser.
