Cutlery, dishes and other tableware go missing from the canteens at AAU in Aalborg, and Chef Rene Holme now encourages all staff and students to remember to return the items after use:
‘Unfortunately, a lot of cutlery go missing, about 60 to 70 percent. And since we’re working at being as sustainable a canteen as possible, we’d like people to remember to gather all tableware. It’s such a waste and ultimately, it’ll cost a lot of money replace it all.’ Rene Holme works for Chartwells who runs the AAU canteens.
The problem is the same at AAU Copenhagen.
‘We’d be very glad if people would return canteen tableware to their nearest canteen,’ Rene Holme emphasises.
