Megaprojects to break down silo mentality
Megaprojects at AAU allow students to become stronger in their own area while also working with sustainability. Such was the opinion of a teacher and two students who attended Wednesday's megaproject conference at AAU. The conference also kicked off the megaprojects of the next semester.
Corona virus: AAU follows Danish national guidelines
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised against all non-essential travel to China, but the Danish Health Authority (SST) do not in general recommend quarantine of travellers returning from China to Denmark.

Rector’s message at the annual staff meeting: AAU must focus on green research funds
On 18 December, AAU staff members and management gathered for the annual staff meeting on the Aalborg campus. The Rector and Pro-rector presented AAU’s key focus areas for 2020, including sustainability, interdisciplinarity and more external research funding.
Interdisciplinarity: the art of finding a common research language
Although they are all researchers at AAU, they rarely speak the same language. The researchers in the interdisciplinary research project SECURE quickly came to this realisation themselves. Working together effectively requires curiosity about each other's expertise, an open mind and a good deal of patience, says postdoc Adrienne Mannov.

Support for research funding applications
AAU researchers now have a single point of entrance to research funding support at AAU. The new website funding.aau.dk is aimed at supporting both researchers and research support staff.
CUTLERY AND DISHES GO MISSING FROM THE CANTEENS
Every year, the AAU canteens in Aalborg lose great amounts of dishes and cutlery. It is very costly to the canteens – both in terms of money and the environment.
